The School of Economics began to enroll foreign students in economics in 2002, and as of Fall 2024, the School of Economics has enrolled and trained a total of 376 foreign students, including 56 graduating doctoral students, 115 master's degree students, 56 undergraduate students, and 52 exchange students (course credits).Currently there are 16 PhD students and 19 master's students.
Undergraduate Education for International Students
The School of Economics has trained 117 undergraduate international students, who enter our school after one year of language tuition. All of them are taught in Chinese and trained in the way of insertion, which enhances their Chinese language ability and strengthens their communication and exchanges with Chinese students at the same time.
Master's Program for International Students
The Faculty of Economics has established the Master in Economics Program for International Students (MEPIS), which is based on the existing curriculum of the Faculty of Economics.The program is an all-English degree program specially designed according to the cultivation program of the existing master's degree program in Applied Economics (first-level discipline) of the School of Economics, aiming at training students' research and application abilities in various fields such as economic development, industrial organization, international trade, investment, resources and environment, and financial management, etc. International students of the School of Economics are required to do the following:
Better understanding of cutting-edge economic theories and current economic policies;Ability to think independently about economic theories and their applications; Good ability to interact and communicate with government, business, non-governmental organizations and teams;Write research papers and be able to participate in academic seminars and other academic activities;A comprehensive understanding of the Chinese economy and market and proficiency in the use of Chinese;Intellectual preparedness and managerial potential for international business and career development.

The Doctor in Economics Program for International Students (DEPIS) is an all-English degree program specially designed in accordance with the training program for the Doctoral Program in Economics (Industrial Economics) at the School of Economics.The program aims to provide systematic research training for doctoral students studying abroad on theoretical and practical issues in the fields of macroeconomics and microeconomics, as well as to guide students to conduct research on China's economic issues, which doctoral students are required to do:
