Program Introduction
Approved by the Ministry of Education in June 2012 (No. 30, 2012), Wuhan University of Technology (WUT) and the University of Newcastle (UN) of Australia have cooperated to organize the undergraduate education program of Finance.
The program is geared towards the development needs of the digital economy in the new era, and aims to cultivate students who have a solid foundation in mathematics and economic and financial theories, are proficient in computational analysis, financial modeling and other research methods, have an international outlook, have the ability to use mathematics, computers, and financial tools to solve practical financial problems, and are able to engage in the development of financial products, analysis of the financial market, financial risk management, and corporate finance in the fields of economy and finance, with strong adaptability and practical ability.The students are socialist builders and successors with strong adaptability, practical spirit, innovative consciousness, all-round development in morality, intellect, physicality, sports and aesthetics, and excellent pursuit and ability.The professional training program is jointly formulated by Wuhan University of Technology and the University of Newcastle, Australia, sharing the quality teaching resources of both sides, with a four-year study period, and the courses are taught in bilingual mode and jointly undertaken by senior teachers of both universities.
Upon completion of all courses and meeting the requirements for degree conferment in the graduation season of Wuhan University of Technology, students will be awarded the undergraduate diploma and bachelor's degree in economics majoring in finance of Wuhan University of Technology; during the 4-year study period, students can choose to study at the University of Newcastle in Australia and meet the requirements for degree conferment of the university, and will be awarded the bachelor's degree in business of the University of Newcastle in Australia (state-recognized qualification).
