Economics currently has 21 faculty members, including 8 professors (38%), 8 associate professors (38%), and 16 doctoral degree holders (76%).
The department adheres to the science and technology, undergraduate teaching activities in accordance with the objectives of solid theoretical foundation, innovative spirit, broad knowledge, strong ability and high comprehensive quality, to cultivate specialists engaged in the research and teaching of economics, and to provide master's degree students for economics and other related disciplines.
In addition to pursuing a master's degree, graduates of the department mainly go to national economic management departments, large and medium-sized enterprises, financial and securities institutions, press and publishing organizations, scientific research units and colleges and universities.The master's degree programs in economics aim to cultivate high-level specialists who are capable of engaging in investment and financing decision-making and planning, business management, economic research, economic forecasting, decision-making consulting and teaching in various industrial management departments and enterprises in the industrial, commercial and transportation sectors.The doctoral program in Industrial Economics aims to cultivate high-end research and management talents engaged in industrial organization, competition policy, industrial structure upgrading, and industrial planning and management.
The department has a team of high-quality teachers who have long been committed to teaching and scientific research and have achieved fruitful results.The undergraduate industrial economics is a provincial high-quality course in Hubei Province.Teachers of the department have undertaken 8 national, 26 provincial and ministerial level as well as a number of research projects in cooperation with enterprises.
